Crew Chief Job Summary 
The Crew Chief is a key field leadership role responsible for leading and coordinating cleaning and restoration jobs on-site. Acting as a bridge between technicians and project management, the Crew Chief ensures each job is executed to Voda’s standards — safely, efficiently, and professionally. This role includes hands-on restoration work, field training for technicians, and quality control while providing progress updates to the Project/Operations Manager. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and a natural leader ready to take the next step in their restoration career.

 
Crew Chief Responsibilities 
Job Execution & Leadership
  • Lead technicians on-site during mitigation, cleaning, and restoration jobs (water, mold, fire, trauma, odor, floor, upholstery, air ducts, etc.).
  • Perform cleaning and restoration services alongside the team while assisting with the management of day-to-day field operations.
  • Ensure all work is performed to IICRC and company standards with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and document moisture readings, drying progress, equipment use, and worksite conditions.
  • Conduct final walkthroughs to ensure all work is complete and meets expectations.
Team Oversight & Communication
  • Provide training, support, and guidance to new and junior technicians in the field.
  • Serve as an on-site point of contact for customers during active restoration in coordination with the Project/Operations manager.
  • Communicate regularly with the Project/Operations Manager regarding job progress, issues, and equipment/material needs.
  • Ensure technicians complete required documentation (photos, logs, notes, work orders).
Equipment, Vehicles & Documentation
  • Maintain the cleanliness, readiness, and proper stock of assigned vehicles and job site equipment.
  • Track equipment usage and ensure accurate logging and reporting.
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment and report service needs to operations.
  • Submit complete and accurate paperwork and documentation daily.
 
Crew Chief Qualifications
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of field experience in restoration, construction, or mitigation required.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or crew lead role preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Solid understanding of restoration processes (especially water, mold, and fire damage).
  • Strong verbal communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve under pressure and adapt to changing job site conditions.
  • Tech-savvy enough to handle mobile reporting, moisture mapping, and app-based tools.
Certifications (preferred or must be obtained within 90 days):
  • IICRC WRT (Water Restoration Technician)
  • Additional certifications a plus: ASD, FSRT, AMRT, HST, etc.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, attics, crawlspaces, and in variable weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Compensation: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
